Statement:
Tourism is now one of the world’s largest industries and one of its fastest growing economic sectors. For many states tourism is seen as a main instrument for regional development, as it stimulates new economic activities. Tourism increase shows an increasing importance to recreation and leisure.
Tourism is mainly a private-sector enterprise, but the timely provision of hotel and other visitor services, such as entertainment, food, and sport facilities, requires public-sector participation in the form of infrastructure, promotional support, and fiscal and financial incentives.
